About

I am a student at UCLA pursuing a B.S. in Statistics & Data Science and a B.A. in Central & East European Studies, with a minor in Entrepreneurship. My interests center on financial markets, investing, macroeconomics, and data-driven analysis.
Background
My academic and professional experiences have shaped a strong interest in finance, research, and market-based decision-making. What draws me most to this work is the way it combines quantitative analysis with strategy, judgment, and communication. Across my coursework, internships, and independent projects, I have tried to build a foundation that connects technical skill with a broader understanding of how markets and institutions function.
Finance Experience
I currently work at Orion Alpha, an asset management fund, where I focus on equity market strategy and quantitative research. This role has brought me closest to the part of finance that interests me most: thinking about valuation, market behavior, risk, and the interaction between data and investment decisions.
Previously, I worked at PwC and KPMG, where I gained experience across different areas of finance and advisory work. At PwC, I supported engagements involving IPOs, asset-backed securities, and divestitures, which gave me exposure to transactions, capital formation, and strategic financial analysis. At KPMG, I worked with clients ranging from large institutions to middle-market businesses, which gave me a broader view of how financial and operational issues vary across firms of different sizes and structures.
Together, these experiences helped me understand finance from multiple perspectives: public markets, transactions, and the internal decision-making processes of companies.
Research and Investment Work
Alongside my professional work, I have also built a strong interest in research and investing.
Through Capitalis Private Investment Fund, I have worked on investment research, valuation, and portfolio ideas in a live investing setting. Through Financial Innovation Technology at UCLA, I have explored how AI and machine learning can be applied to financial modeling and trading. Through the Federal Reserve Challenge, I developed a stronger macroeconomic lens by working on monetary policy analysis, economic frameworks, and policy recommendations.
I have also pursued these interests independently through my Substack, where I write about markets, macroeconomics, and finance. Writing has become an important part of how I think, because it pushes me to move beyond surface-level ideas and explain my reasoning clearly.
What I Am Interested In
I am especially interested in work that combines finance, markets, and rigorous analytical thinking. Over time, I hope to continue building experience in roles where quantitative skill matters, but where judgment, communication, and curiosity are equally important.
More broadly, I am drawn to questions about how markets price risk, how macroeconomic conditions shape investment outcomes, and how data can support better decisions without replacing human judgment.
Outside the Classroom
Outside of academics and finance, I enjoy snowboarding, golf, hockey, baking sourdough bread and chocolate chip cookies, and listening to New Wave music.
